In this rhetorical situation, you have been reading about discourse communities and you're convinced that a group that you are part of is the perfect example of a discourse community. Your friend is bewildered. Not only does she not have a clue what a discourse community is, she also doesn't get what would make this particular group one. Your job is to convince her by describing what a discourse community is and how your group fits the characteristics.
