Develop a well post-colonial society

Discussion:

India has been successful since its liberation from a colonial state. Erenow suggest that the effort of overcoming colonialism, was that a multi-class effort, very popular amongst many of India's population. A collection of one union of resilience and resistance. Leaders such as Gandhiji, predicted that imperialism was ultimately minimizing the successes and growth of the country, and by challenging the authority of which they were under, India had hope. The source states, "This he sought to do by countering the colonial influence in the education system, media, bureaucracy, police and most importantly among the people. It is such an understanding, we shall see, which was missing among many who wanted to give an alternative direction to the post-colonial Indian state, if not to transform or overthrow it." India has seen much success in their post-colonial efforts as they established national security, and the adoption of democracy. This choice to adopt democracy allowed them to thrive as in independent country, giving a voice to the poor and allowing all citizens to have say.

Compared to the colonialism that occured in Africa, a colonialism that existed from many outside countries for hundreds of years, seeking to acquire raw material and ultimately raping the land and its native people. Quora describes Africa as a playground between external powers who seek to rob the land of its resources and abuse the human rights, and forced labor of it people. The lack of success post-colonialism has had in Africa may be due to the mass oppression against its people, placing the diverse nations against themselves, as they all adapted different forms of colonial rule. During the times of decolonization in Central and Southern Africa, many of its leaders were killed. Africa still battles with unifying and recovering from the damages of thousands of years against its land and human prosperity. The divisions and ignorance created from colonial rule still linger today and can account for some of the fuelled war and internal racism that still exist with Africans against one another. It may be hard to unify due to the complexity and diversity of Africa's cultures, languages and religions. Also their lack of leadership to help unify and demand prosperity may play into this as well. Africa hopefully will develop into a well post-colonial society, it may just need more time than India's recovery.
