Textual Analysis Project Description
After reading the two essays and the book excerpt by Deborah Tannen in the Textual Analysis folder, choose one of these three works and write a fully developed essay (600-1000 words) that first summarizes and then responds to Tannen's position in one of these three works.For this assignment you must respond to one of the three written works in the Textual Analysis folder.
In your response, you are strongly encouraged to develop a specific analysis of the work's major points. In other words, identify particular aspects of the Tannen essay of your choice that you can expand uponor, perhaps, counter in a way that allows you to express your own point of view.
Remember to cite from your chosen Tannen work, using a combination of summary, paraphrase, and direct quotations as a foundation for your response. Also, remember to properly credit your source, using MLA Style. Discussing and citing the actual debates posted in the Textual Analysis folder as well as quoting and citing your chosen Tannen essay or excerpt is necessary to support the position you take in your critique of the chosen article or excerpt.
