Reflection Journal: Being a more effective team member.

In this assignment, critically evaluate how you act as a group member. For this, the requirement is to draft a three to four-page paper (in-text references using standard citation styles). Use concepts from organizational behavior throughout the paper to support the arguments. Make sure to explain what evidence you have for your assertions that are, what you know and what you don't know.

Going back to your work history before coming to the program, think about the variety of groups, committees, or task forces you were a part of. In this paper, you should:

a) Describe one individual-level (not group level) positive behaviors that you observed from yourself and one individual-level positive behavior you observed from other members in one or two of these groups;

b) Describe two negative behaviors that you engaged in as a group member in those or other group assignments. For each of the four behaviors you have identified, examine the underlying cause or source of these behaviors, developing contextual and personal explanations for why they may have occurred.

c) You will develop a plan to adopt one new positive behavior for yourself and extinguish one negative behavior you have engaged in, using your study team as the context in which these new behaviors will unfold. Your plan should account for contextual and personal factors that may be obstacles to reaching your goal, using course concepts to identify and address them, making sure you discuss the limitations you might face in the execution of your plan.
