Suppose the daily demand is 70 boxes. Develop a plan for producing at the level of daily demand. Overtime can be used if necessary, but is undesirable since it is more expensive. Note the Star Box Company is not unionized, so workers can be retrained and reassigned elsewhere within the line. However, management does not wish to lay-off, furlough, or fire any workers. If management does not wish to use overtime, but is willing to hire additional workers, would additional workers be needed, and if so, how many and where? You may assume cross-training and job-splitting is allowed (e.g., a worker may work a % day on each of two different jobs). When developing your plan consider the potential effects of variability.
