Assignment:
Develop a comprehensive GIS project using ArcGIS. Involving other software is encouraged.
Data: Your own data obtained from other sources.
Project requirements:
1. Determine an application issue for the project.
2. Compile the data useful to address the issue (start trying Internet-based GIS data sources now). A powerpoint listing potential data sources can be found on blackboard.
3. Create an application including at least three data layers of the same geographic area. The data features must be relevant to the study issue.
4. Attribute tables must be created or modified when necessary.
5. Implement analyses on the data - this should include at least 3 to 5 - geoprocessing tools, and then present the results using ArcGIS.
6. Create a color map(s) for the application. The map must include the title, legends, and the map scale, as well as other map elements.
7. Prepare a project report that describes your project issues/ objectives, documented tools used, data sources, approach and results.
