Assignment:
Interview a Principal, Chief Financial Officer (CFO), or Chief Business Officer (CBO) and develop a communication plan to inform stakeholders of decision-making processes used in budget creation. The purpose of the interview is to understand the leader's role in budget development, monitoring the budget. and in supervising accountability measures as well as to learn how they best develop a communication plan to inform and enlist stakeholder buy-in. Develop an interview form with at least 10 questions based on course concepts.
Include these topics in Bold Subheadings:
1. Do you think education should be funded at the federal level or do you think education is a state and local responsibility?
2. Under what conditions do you believe children learn the most and how can that be supported with resources? Discuss how many of these conditions can be altered or improved by additional financial inputs.
3. How do you think market-oriented reforms (e.g. charter schools, vouchers) will affect the U.S. education system and do you think market-based strategies should be utilized to educate all children in the US?
4. Create the other questions on your own or feel free to use the example questions in the exemplar. Interviews can be done in person or over the phone.
Note: Submit the interview questions in a 5 to 8 (double-spaced) paged report summarizing the interviews and providing a personal reflection as well as a short plan to communicate to stakeholders for buy-in.
