Question: Develop a chronic non-cancer oral (ingestion) health standard/guideline (e.g., RfD, MRL, ADI, etc.) for a new chemical based on the following information from an animal study: a. 2-year study of rats given four different dose levels of a chemical in their feed. b. Liver effects are considered the most important (sensitive) target organ/system and these effects were first observed at 4.5 mg/kg/day. c. A NOAEL was not observed (developed). d. The study is generally considered to be a strong with many animals used for each of the dosing levels and the best one available to determine liver effects.
