Determining the response variable


A paint manufacturer is studying two different paint formulas which of two different types of paints would provide the most protection from the elements. This is judged by how quickly the paint peels under trial. The formulas are similar, but they use different levels of additives. Additive A can be 4 or 6 ounces/gallon. Additive B can be 1 or 2 ounces/gallon. Additive C can be 1/2 or 1 ounce/gallon. Answer the following questions about the experiment.

c) What are the levels of the factors (show them in a table)?
d) Describe a treatment condition.
e) How many different experiments would need to be run to cover all of the permutations?
