Determining goodness of fit between observed and expected

Problem: In dogs, coat color maybe black, brown or white. A series of crossings between black and white dogs (cross #1) gave the following F2 results: 28 black: 13 white: 9 brown. Another series of crosses between black and white dogs (cross #2) yielded the following results: 20 black, 20 brown and 35 white. Propose a hypothesis that will show that the genetic mechanism behind the second cross is consistent with the first cross. Prove your answer by determining goodness of fit between observed and expected results for the second cross.
