Review the document "Building Trust Between the Police and the Citizens They Serve: An Internal Affairs Promising Practices Guide for Local Law Enforcement".
Write a 1 to 2 page paper outlining a good policy for:
-Determining a disposition to the investigation,
-Notifying the officer of the disposition,
-Notifying the complainant of the disposition,
-And maintaining the confidentiality of the investigative files.
By disposition I mean whether the complaint is founded, unfounded, etc. Your policy does not have to cover every little detail, but cover enough to provide a good solid foundation for a more detailed policy.
