Discussion: Art and monetary values
Some artworks now sell for tens of millions of dollars or more money. Are they worth it? Why or why not? (Look at any Botticelli panel, Michelangelo sculpture, or Claude Monet oil painting in the text, for instance.) Why do you think that an artist's name often determines the value of an artwork?
