Problem
The accounting team has five days to perform its month-end activities each month before it submits its report to the CFO. Lately, month- end has been taking longer than 5 days of effort, and many of the accounting team members have been doing a lot of overtime, causing burnout and frustration on the part of staff, while increasing risk that the executives will not get timely and accurate financial information.
To analyze the causes of this problem, the team brainstormed 10 possible causes. Not it needs to organize them into categories using a fishbone diagram.
