Determine whether or not your story has expressed

Assignment task:

Based on your recent reading, determine whether or not your story has expressed an inciting incident - if so, identify the sentence or passage that illustrates it and write it as an mla formatted quote and then write a response paragraph below that explaining the incident and what it has set in motion. If your story doesn't appear to have a clear inciting incident then you can write about any component of the rising action - identify the event (external or internal) - write the passage as an MLA formatted quote and a response paragraph. If you are reading a biography or other non-fiction you will have to choose a moment or revelation to discuss.

Inciting Incident: The character reacts to something that has happened, and it starts a chain reaction of events.

Rising Action: The story builds. There is often a complication, which means the problem the character tried to solve gets more complex.
