A river barge, whose cross section is approximately rectangular, carries a load of grain down a river. The barge is 10m wide and 30m long. When unloaded, its draft (how deep it is submerged in the water) is 2m and when loaded with grain the draft is 2.5m. Determine: (a) the unloaded weight of the barge and (b) the weight of grain.
