A steam power plant implements an ideal reheat Rankine cycle. Steam enters the inlet of the high-pressure turbine at 8 MPa and 450 °C and the inlet of the low-pressure turbine at 0.5 MPa and 500 °C. The condenser operates at 10 kPa.

Determine:

(a) the mass flow rate through the boiler needed for this system to produce a net 5000 kW of power and

(b) the thermal efficiency of the cycle.
