At 26.0 Celsius a student collected hydrogen gas in a burette by displacing water. To equalize the pressure the burette could not be submerged deep adequate in a water bath. In the water bath the water level in the burette was 14.1 cm above the water level and the volume of the gas in the burette was calculated to be 33.6ml.
