Determine the velocity of ball just before the collision

A ball is joined to one end of a wire, the other end being fastened to the ceiling. The wire is held horizontal and the ball is free from rest. It swings downward and hits a block initially at rest on a horizontal frictionless surface. The air resistance is negligible and the collision is elastic. The masses of ball and block are, correspondingly, 1.7 kg and 2.3 kg, and the length of the wire is 1.11 m. determine the velocity (magnitude and direction) of the ball (i) just before the collision, and (ii) just after the collision.
