We wish to design the trans-impedance amplifier depicted in Fig. 12.101 for a closed-loop gain of 1 k Ω. Assume each transistor carries a collector bias current of 1 mA, β= 100, VA = ∞, and RF is very large.

(a) Determine the values of RC and RM for an open-loop gain of 20 k Ω and an open-loop output impedance of 500 Ω.

(b) Compute the required value of RF.

(c) Calculate the closed-loop I/O impedances.
