Air at 14.7 psia and 60 °F enters a heavy duty compressor with negligibly small inlet speed. The air is discharge at a rate of 20 lbm/sec at 90 psia, and with a speed of 500 ft/s. If the power input is 3200 hp and the rate of heat transfer from the compressor is controlled by a cooling system to be 11 Btu/hr, determine the temperature of the discharged air (assuming other viscous losses to be negligible). Considering the rise in internal energy (which is also considered a loss), determine the efficiency of the compressor, Nc.
