R16 = pCu L16/A16 = ((1.72 x 10^(-8) omega*m)(35m))/(13.0 x 10^-7m^2) = 0.46 omega

How do the two resistances compare?

They are equal because the length (35m) is the same and so is the diameter of the copper since they belong to the same 16-gauge.
