Determine the relationship between naked and hairless

Problem:

A geneticist has obtained two true-breeding strains of mice, each homozygous for an independently discovered recessive mutation that prevents the formation of hair on the body. One mutant strain is called naked, and the other is called hairless. To determine whether the two mutations are alleles, the geneticist crossed naked and hairless mice with each other. All the offspring are phenotypically wild-type; (i.e., they have hairs all over their bodies). After crossing the wild-type F1, the geneticist observes 115 wild-type mice and 85 mutant mice in the F2.

Required:

Question 1: Determine the relationship between naked and hairless.

Question 2: Explain the reasoning behind your answer to part question 1.

Question 3: What is the expected phenotypic Mendelian ratio with corresponding phenotypes for F2 generation?

Include source of information for best answer.
