Determine the natural convection heat transfer coefficient

Experiments have been conducted on a steel vertical flat plate 130 mm in width and 160 mm long. The plate is heated internally by an electrical heater. One side is fully insulated and the other side is open to the air. Under a specific set of operating conditions for which the temperature of plate at 8 cm from the bottom of the plate was maintained at 95.4 degrees Celcius, the heater power dissipating was measured to be P=30.5 W. The ambient air temperature was 20 degrees Celcius. It is estimated that 30% of the power dissipation is lost through the effect of conduction. Considering the heat loss due to the radiation using the emissivity of 0.85.

a.) Determine the natural convection heat transfer coefficient and averaged Nusselt number from the experimental results at 8 cm from the bottom of the plate.

b.) Compare the experimental results with the averaged Nusselt number and natural heat transfer coefficient computed from an appropriate correlation at 8 cm from the bottom of the plate.
