Determine the maximum force of static friction

The coefficient of static friction for aluminum on steel is 0.61, and for copper on steel is 0.53. An aluminum block of mass m1= 2.0 kg and a copper block of mass m2= 6 are connected by a light string over a frictionless pulley. They sit on a steel surfaces as shown in the figure where = 30 degrees

a) Draw a free body diagrams showing the forces acting on the two blocks

b) determine the maximum force of static friction

c) When the blocks are released from rest, show that they will not start to move

d) determine the sum of the magnitudes of the forces of friction acting on the blocks
