Determine the hydrostatic force on one side of a vertical clrcular gate of diameter 1.5m when its centre is immersed at a depth of 6m neto-w tne free surface of water in a reservoir. Determine also the depth from the surface to the line of action of this force. you are reminded that the second moment of area for a circle about its centroid is given as:

Ic - nd4 /64 where d = diameter.

Explain briefly what additionalforce you would need to calculate if the gate were located in an embankment inclined at an angle 0
