A 15cm flute has a standing wave as seen in several snapshots below. Time is measured in seconds and the speed of sound is 343 m/s.

a) Identify the nodes and anti-nodes.

b) Determine the harmonic number for this standing wave.

c) Determine its frequency.

d) Find the length of the pipe.

e) The pipe is cut into two pieces at the first node from the left. Sketch the fundamental for each of the two pieces.

f) List the lowest three resonant frequencies for each of the two pieces.
