Solution: Use v = 1.318(C)(R)0.63 (Sf)0.54     Sf = hf /L      R = d/4  

L = 2,000 ft        d = 8.0 in               C = 140             Sf = hf /L = 54/2,000 = 0.027

v = (1.318)(140)(8/4)0.63 (0.027)0.54

v = 40.6 ft/sec
