Determine the final momentum of the fircracker system and

A pyrotechnician releaseas a 3 kg firecracker from rest. At t= 0.4 s, the firecracker is moving downward with a speed 4 m/s. At this isame instant, the fire cracker begins to explode into two pieces, "top" and "bottom", with masses Mtop= 1kg and Mbottom= 2kg.

At the end of the expolsion (t=0.6s), the top piece is moving upwards with speed 6 m/s.

The mass of the explosive substance is negligible in comparision to the mass of the two pieces.

A) Determind the magnitude of the net force on the firecracker system before the expolsion (use g= 10m/s2). Explain.

B) Determine the magnutide of the net force on the firecracker system at an instant during the explosion.

C) Determine the magnitude and direction of the net impulse on the firecracker system during the explosion. Explain.

D) Use the impulse momentum theorem to determine the magnitude and direction of the change in momentum of the firecracker system during the explosion. Enter this vecor in the table using the scale by initial momentum of the system.

E) Determine the final momentum of the fircracker system and enter it in the table.

F) Complete the vector diagram at right.
