Determine the energy loss due to the gradual enlargement

1.A water pipe gradually changes from 6" to 8" diameter accompanied by an increase of elevation of 10'. If the pressures at 6" and 8" sections are 9 psi and 6 psi respectively, what is the direction of flow: (a) for 3 cfs and (b) for 4 cfs?

2.For a triangular channel of z=2 side slopes tha tcarries a discharge of 100 cfs at a depth of 5 ft, determine the channel slope S under the assumption that normal flow exists and that n equals 0.022. Assume that the channel is dug in sand, check if it is susceptible or deposition.

3.Determine the energy loss due to the gradual enlargement from a 25 mm pipe to a 75 mm pipe when the velocity of flow is 3 m/s in the smaller pipe and the cone angle of enlargement is 20°C.
