A thin uniform rod having length = 1.2 m and mass = 2.0 kg is pivoted about a horizontal, frictionless pin via one end of the rod. (The moment of inertia of the rod around its axis is ML2/3.) The rod is released if it makes an angle of around 37 degrees with the horizontal. Determine the angular acceleration of the rod at the moment it is released?
