Determine the amplitude of the line frequency response

Assignment:

A transmission line of length d = 20 km has a constant characteristic impedance Z0 = 100, and an attenuation of 1 dB/km at the frequency f0= 10 MHz. By assuming matched conditions, determine:

a) The amplitude of the line frequency response.

b) The received power, by assuming that the transmitted signal has a band [ƒ0, ƒ1], f1 = 40 MHz, and a power PTx = 1 mW uniformly distributed over the band. Note that the narrowband assumption is not valid in this case.

c) The SNR at the output of a constant gain receive amplifier with noise figure (FRc)dB = 8 dB and suitable band (to be specified).
