Determine rate of heat transfer from the condensing steam


Steam is working fluid in Rankine Cycle with super heat & reheat and steam is entered in 1st state turbine 8MPa & 480C and expand to reheat pressure of 0.7MPa. It is then reheated to 440C before entering the 2nd stage turbine where it expands to condensor pressure of 0.008MPa. The net Power output is 100MW.

Then Determine:

1. Thermal efficiency of cycle

2. Mass flow rate pf steam in Kg/hr

3. Rate of Heat transfer from the condensing steam as it passes through the condensor in MWatt.
