At steady state they consider the combination of a continuous steady state catalytic reactor which is followed by distillation with recycle of un-reacted products in which the following reaction takes place

CO +2H2 ---------->CH3OH

Suppose through the reactor half the reactants are consumed in each pass. The distillation produces a stream of methanol with 1% CO. The recycle stream have 5% methanol.

CO which is having the flow rate is maintained at 1 mole/min.
