Synopsis Guidelines & Format Synopsis Guidelines Submission of Synopsis is mandatory. The synopsis is basically a blueprint, an outline or an abstract of what students wish to achieve in their project. Thus submission and approval of Synopsis is mandatory. The synopsis will be screened by the mentor and provided with necessary revisions and recommendations. Improper and unjustified Synopsis will be rejected. Submission of Synopsis The synopsis has to be submitted by 24th December 2017, 11:00 pm. Contents of Synopsis The synopsis must describe the basis, design, methodology and rationale behind the project. Student must not go into unnecessary details of the company, its products and other alternatives etc. A Synopsis may be of 5-10 pages and shall be simple, straightforward depicting the objective of your study and tools and techniques to be applied, if any. A sample Synopsis may contain following topics:- 1. Introduction - Details about the topic, industry, company, need of study and some history about the same (if available) etc 2. Defining Scope & Objectives – Defining the core problem statement and listing down the objectives of the project 3. Data Sources – Identifying and listing down the data to be used for the analysis. Students should mention the source of data, contents and time period to be used 4. Analytical Approach - Students should mention the analytical approach, different statistical tools and techniques to be used, if any, the rationale behind using them and any limitations 5. Recommendations & Applications – Students should mention how the recommendations from the analysis will be implemented. They should also mention any possible applications of the study in similar or related industries 6. References and Bibliography - Details about any reference books, articles, web resources etc. that will be used for the project.
