Determine if it is suitable to change the firewall rules

Assignment task:

Examine the following article to determine if it is suitable to change the firewall rules in the situation where the firewall is preventing certain programs from properly using the internet.

The firewall will provide a warning that states, "Windows Defender Firewall have disabled some functions of this application," whenever we open newly downloaded software that either needs or suggests using an internet connection. The next step in the process is for the user to choose whether or not to communicate with the software over a public or private network. To find a solution to this issue, we will need to investigate which applications the firewall prevents from establishing a connection to the internet. Accessing the firewall and navigating to the "Allow any application through the firewall" menu will allow us to check to see whether the program we wish to enable is already on the approved list. If this is not the case, we will add the application to the list before investigating the specific incoming and outgoing rules that govern the application's enhanced security. In a typical scenario, the program would have two entries: one for the TCP protocol and another one for the UDP protocol. We would configure the firewall to let incoming and outgoing traffic pass through it to guarantee that the application we want to use would generally function while connected to the internet.

Additionally, we have the right to stipulate whether a particular piece of software is authorized to access private or public networks. If we want the program to function only on private networks and not on public networks, we may set up a rule that prevents any traffic from entering or leaving a public network. This would apply to both incoming and outgoing traffic. In addition, you can choose which networks will be permitted to join. Only users on private networks will be able to access a media server application if you want to do so. If you connect your laptop to a public wireless network, your media server will be inaccessible to everyone else who tries to access it. People who are connected to you via your personal or professional networks will be able to get in touch with you.
