Assuming a flow rate of 5 L/min through the aorta of diameter 25 mm, diameter of tube 2 to be 15 mm and diameter of tube 3 to be 22 mm, determine:

The flow balance for this system using conservation of mass

If 40% of the flow goes towards the brain, what is the velocity of flow in tube 3?

 

If the person is working out on their upper body, the body decides to send 55% of flow to the upper body. But the body does not want to exceed the velocity magnitude that was originally present (i.e. under rest state) - how might the body satisfy this condition?
