Determination of resultant velocity

Determination of resultant velocity, final velocity, acceleration, average velocity and time taken by automobile to come to rest.

Compute the following questions:
a) A stone is thrown vertically upward with a speed of 24.0 meters per second (m/s). How fast is it moving when it reaches a height of 17.0 meters (m)?

b) A ballplayer catches a ball 2.75 seconds after throwing it vertically upward. With what speed did he throw it?

c) The brakes on your automobile are capable of slowing down the car at a rate of 5.20 meters per second squared (m/s^2). If you are going 137 kilometers per hour (km/h) and suddenly see a state trooper, what is the least time in which you can get your car under 90.0 kilometers per hour (km/h) speed limit?
