For your main post, you will need to evidence an effective use of quotation. Thus, you should not use a dropped quote or a block quote. A dropped quote is one that is simply extracted from the source and "dropped" into the writing like so:
"The practice was first implemented at Purdue University in 1927" (Lord, 2012, p. 121).
A block quote is simply a quote that is quite extensive (more than forty words) and is set in a block style like the one you can find in your textbook on page 177. While it may be useful for longer papers, it is not a good idea to use block quotes for shorter ones like the research assignment for this class.
You should, however, use quoted material that is integrated into the body of your own work. Here is an example:
Despite the fact that "the student-as-consumer philosophy has become more widely spread" (Lord, 2012, p. 121), it is clear that the current business model in a university setting is not an effective model.
