Question

A cantilever beam with an interior exposure condition is subjected to a concentrated end force V_u = 2.88 × 10⁵ N.

The RC data are: concrete, f^'_c = 20.68 MPa, width b = 300 mm, height h = 600 mm, reinforcement depth d = 560 mm; transverse steel reinforcement, A_sv = 127.1 mm², f_y = 413 MPa, ss = 200 mm.

It is required to design the FRP shear strengthening for both continuous and discontinuous distribution utilizing the following FRP material:  f^'_fu = 3640 MPa,  ε^'_fu = 0.016, t_f = 0.2 mm.
