The intensity of service linear dead load is WD = 20,000 lb/ft and a service linear live load WL = 12,000 lb/ft of wall length. Assume an evenly distributed soil bearing pressure and that the average soil bearing pressure at the base of the footing is 3 tons/ft2. The frost line is assumed to be 2 ft below grade. Given:

average weight of soil and footing above base = 130 pcf

footing f'c = 3000 psi

column f'c = 4000 psi

fy = 60,000 psi

surcharge = 120 psf
