Design a cyclone that has a collection efficiency between 80% and 85% (use parcticle size distribution given below). you must assume a dpc of 4.2 microns,an inlet gas velocity of 25 m/s and a K of 15.The unit must handle 20,000 cfm of contaminated air (225 degrees F, 1 atm)with a pressure drop no greater than 9 inches of water.The gas viscosityis 0.058 kg/m per hour, the gas density is 0.89 kg/m3.Indicate the removal efficiency, the cyclone body diameter,the pressure drop for the design. Also determine the other physical dimensions of the cyclone; Height of inlet, width of inlet,diameter of gas exit,length of vortex finder,length of body,length of cone and the diameter of dust outlet.(SHOW ALL WORK)
