• Sectch of furnace design with appropriate dimensions
• Decide on heat load required (temperature and heat).
• Complete energy balance for furnace.
• Determine recidance time for coalin furnace ,investigate design equations for appropriate type of furnace
• Size furnace diameter ,hight with appropriate type of furnace
• State calculations to confirm insulation and wall temperature.
• Inlet outlet pipe sizing ,thickness of metal
• Gas burner design calculations
• Calculations must be internalty consistent
