Your police department has an operational plan in place for natural disasters, but nothing could have prepared you for this: a category 5 hurricane destroyed much of your town. Street signs, trees, many buildings and most natural and man-made monuments have been damaged, destroyed, or are simply gone. You have 10 residents confirmed dead, many more are missing, and you will need to do a search of the town’s mobile home park for suspected additional fatalities. There have been reports of looting and lots of "strangers" in town. You have an agreement in place with a “Sister” Police Department from another state and they are sending 30 officers to assist with policing duties for the foreseeable future.
Write a 1,050 to 1,400 word paper explaining the types of police plans you would put into effect to respond to the various issues your department is facing.
- Describe a minimum of three types of police plans (such as a reactive plan) which could be utilized in the above scenario.
- Explain how you would implement each of the three plans. Justify your reasoning.
