Describe your observations and give a possible explanation

Problem

1) Sit comfortably, with your arm or hand on the table. Have your timer or stopwatch easily accessible. Place the fingertips of the first two fingers of one hand over the pulse point, and press gently. Remember not to press too hard.

2) Count the number of pulses in 30 seconds, and then multiply that number by 2. This will be the initial heart rate. Record the data.

3) Jump on one foot 20 times and then jump on the other 20 times (you could also do jumping jacks or something that will make a bit out of breath). Measure the heart rate immediately after the exercise and record it. This will be the exercise heart rate.

4) Measure the heart rate 3 minutes after the exercise. This will be the final heart rate.

Heart Rate measurements:
Initial heart rate: .......................
Exercise heart rate: ......................
Final heart rate: .............................
