1. Content:The content may be a concept, skills or a strategy that relates to yourmini lesson. This will be taken directly from the Massachusetts CurriculumFrameworks. You will use one or two reading standards. Think about how you can focus on your topic by using the frameworks.
2. Instructional Objective(s):Indicate what is to be learned and how that knowledge willbe reflected in the completion of your lesson. Write this in behavioral terms using oneverb per objective. Be sure your objective relates directly to your content.
3. Instructional Procedures:Describe what you will do in teaching this lesson. Find passages from the text that illustrate your topic. Use those to frame your direct lesson. Now what will you have the students do?
4. Materials and Equipment:You will use the book as a read aloud or a read together. Other materials? Graphic organizers, work samples, technology?
5. Follow Up:Reflect on your lesson focusing on strengths and areas that needimprovement.
