Explain the importance of Ithaca as a destination for Odysseus, but also as a symbol of completion and fulfillment that has influenced literature (poetry and verse) ever since. Provide with specific examples (from The Odyssey but also from other literary texts) to define Ithaca. A brief research on the topic is a must if you are going to answer this question. Additionally you should consult Chapter 12 ("Return from Ithaca") in Hall's The return of Ulysses.
