The final paper must:
• Be on a topic related to homeland security
• Include some background on the issue. Explain why it is important and how it is significant to society. Address how this issue relates to the Whole Community approach.
• Apply one of the lenses described in Unit II to the homeland security issue you selected.
• Describe unintended consequences a homeland security policy applicable to the topic has on civil liberties.
• Include a Logic Model on the issue.
• Discuss how social media can be used to aid in managing a crisis.
• Be a minimum of ten double-spaced pages in length (excluding the title/cover page and reference page). If you include an abstract, the abstract does not count towards the ten pages.
Use a minimum of ten scholarly resources aside from the textbook, including a minimum of two from the CSU Online Library. Encyclopedias, dictionaries, Wikipedia, other wikis or blogs, web sites that do not provide quality researched materials, E-how.com, Ask.com, About.com, Howthingswork.com, and other similar sites are NOT acceptable resources and may not be used in your paper.
• Include a title page with the following:
a. Title of paper
b. Student's name
c. Course name and number
d. Instructor's name
e. Date submitted
• Begin with an introductory paragraph that has a succinct thesis statement.
• Address the topic of the paper with critical thought.
• End with a conclusion that reaffirms your thesis.
• Be formatted according to APA style.
