Functions of the Frontal Lobe:
The prefrontal cortex is important for several behaviors, including decision-making, moral judgments, reasoning, inhibition of inappropriate behavior, and long-term planning. Further, deficits in prefrontal cortex function are apparent in numerous psychological disorders or lead to behaviors that are "risk factors" for a psychological disorder.
Describe two lines of evidence identifying areas of the prefrontal cortex as key areas in aberrant behavior and/or psychological disorders (i.e. choose two different behaviors or disorders). Include the neurotransmitter system(s) involved and the specific deficiency within that system; support your answer with evidence from human and/or animal studies discussed in the resources in the classroom or additional resources (e.g. treatment strategies, neurochemical evidence from research studies, imaging data, etc.).
