Describe the trait-reputation-identity model

Problem:

Please summarize the following text.

An important development in this area was the Trait-Reputation-Identity (TRI) Model advanced by McAbee and Connelly [32]. Within the TRI model, trait factors reflect consensus between self-reports and other-reports, reputation factors reflect others' unique insights into a target's personality (with trait factors removed), and identity factors reflect a target's unique self-view (with trait factors removed) [32]. By separating variance components in personality scores, the TRI Model serves as a methodological template for empirical tests through structural equation models. Connelly and colleagues [38] conducted the first empirical examination of the TRI Model among South Korean military school students. These authors found that (a) reputation factors of Conscientiousness and Agreeableness were the strongest predictors of all performance criteria, (b) trait factors were moderately related to performance criteria, and (c) identity factors were generally unrelated to performance criteria. However, as cautioned by Ashton and Lee [39], the high validity of the reputation factors may also to some extent be due to the performance ratings coming from individuals within the same military school. Thus, the effect might not generalize to ratings provided by other observers such as high school friends, parents, or siblings. Need Assignment Help?
