The majority of the images of both Native Americans and African Americans produced in the United States in the 19th century drew heavily on certain stereotypes. Describe these stereotypes, and then compare and contrast how they were used to promote certain ideas about these two groups of people (use at least two examples for each group). Indicate also the realities of these groups that the stereotypes failed to represent.
